Weighing in at 16lbs. 14oz. (70th percentile!) and 25 7/8 inches long (50th percentile), I give you our sweet baby Eleanor....
If you look closely, you can see those bottom two teeth just breaking through the surface. I can see the little white tips of both of them now broken through the surface.
On Friday morning I took Ellie to the dr. for her 6 month check-up. She's been a little under the weather for the past few days, so I didn't know how it would all go. She was super smiley and cooperative - the doctor even commented that she was the happiest sick baby he had seen in awhile. The whole time he was examining her and listening to her breathe, she was just smiling and laughing at him. He decided that she has RSV (click HERE to find out what that's all about) but she's looking really good and there isn't anything else to do except let it run its course. We're to be on the lookout for fevers though, as that could indicate that it has transformed into an ear infection.
With the teething thing going on at the same time, I imagine it would be hard to know what to attribute a fever to at this point.
The doctor is encouraging me to get her started on solid foods (ie., baby cereal) and also tells me that at her age there is no nutritional reason that she would need to eat between bedtime and 6:00am. I think if we were to ask Ellie, she would argue otherwise. She is still waking up sometime between 2 and 4 for a little snack, but goes right back to sleep. I will think about starting to push that out a little farther, but am reluctant to just go cold turkey right off the bat. And for the record - I have tried the baby cereal several times and it's just not working for her - most of it comes right back out or she just gets upset and wants out of the seat :(
The teeth really seemed to be bothering her today and right now I hear her whimpering a bit in her room (at 10:15pm). I gave her Motrin before bed so hopefully that holds a bit longer than the Tylenol. Upside on getting the teeth - she's making some of the cutest faces as she feels around the inside of her mouth for those teeth with her tongue. We do think she's awfully cute, no matter how crabby she gets!
