I got a call on Tuesday morning from Ellie's school saying she had thrown up. Ellie hasn't thrown up since she was a baby and I'm sure she wouldn't have remembered it. I feel bad that it happened when I wasn't around, but she didn't really seem phased by it at all (and as an added bonus - there was nothing for me to clean up!) I picked her up at school and took her to Wil's house. Luckily he was able to work from home and took care of her on Tuesday afternoon and through Wednesday. Instead of having both kids at his house on Tuesday night, we decided to try and keep G away from the sick and he stayed home with Kenny and I on Tuesday night. While I missed Ellie and wished I could help nurse her back to health, it was nice to spend some one-on-one time with Graham. Graham thought it was nice to have a break from his sister too - "Isn't it nice that she isn't here bugging us mom?" We also had fun eating breakfast together at the counter on Wednesday morning. Completely out of the blue Graham said to me, "You know mom, I wouldn't leave you laying here if something bad happened...I would call 911." Thanks bud...good to know! LOL
On Wednesday Graham was invited to his first playdate! His classmate's mom picked them up after school and took them back to her house. Since Wil was home with Ellie and she was feeling better, he was able to pick G up from the playdate. He ended up keeping both kids all afternoon and then kept Graham with him that night so he could get some alone time with daddy. It was nice to have some one-on-one time with Ellie and I was so surprised at how quickly she bounced back from the sick. On Thursday morning she was fever-free for 24 hours and more than ready to go back to school.
Both kids were back home with me on Thursday night, but on Friday morning Graham wandered into my room saying he didn't feel good. Not long after that he got sick and wasn't able to keep anyting down until about noon. He started to perk up halfway through the day, but wasn't feeling well again by evening.
The kids were supposed to spend the night with Pa-Paw and Grandma Chery, but that plan changed a bit. Ellie went from daycare to Jim and Chery's and Graham stayed with me until Wil picked him up after dinner to take him home with him.
As of last night, I heard that G still had a fever, but was still keeping food and drink down. Slowly but surely getting better I hope.
There is so much sick going around, it was bound to catch up with us at some point. Luckily it looks like we found a fast-moving bug - we have a no-school day on Monday so we'll have one more day to get everyone healthy and rested up before getting back to it.
