We stayed pretty close to home this past weekend, but it felt really nice to do that. On Saturday I wandered away from the house for a little bit with Kenny and we left his daughter Faith in charge of Ellie and Grhaam for a few hours. I'm told they had a lot of fun together while we went to see the movie Crazy Stupid Love - great movie that we both enjoyed...I recommend!
We brought home dinner and just hung out a bit before the kids went to bed and Kenny and Faith headed home. The kids really do enjoy having Faith around and Ellie in particular adores her :)
I showed Kenny the photobooth app I have on my phone (and have a blast playing with - again, I recommend!) He had some fun with it and I love this shot of him and Faith...
Sunday morning started with everyone crawling into mommy's bed - it was awesome!
Graham declared it to be a PJ day - which was totally fine with me :)
Apparently it was also a fun dress-up kind of day, because I got this shot of the kids later that morning - Graham in his Iron Man costume and Ellie in her orange tutu
Awwww...I love this!
Ellie continued to have fun with her dress-up clothes and spent much of the day like this...
Not long after this she put her shiny pink raincoat on over this ensemble and announced that she was going to her daddy's house!
Luckily everyone was easily distracted and made happy by having some Playdoh/art time :)
We chatted with Nana and Papa on the phone (a Sunday tradition) and both kids had things to say! The day wasn't entirely lazy for me - I managed to get a couple loads of laundry done and put away, and I sorted/organized all of their arts/crafts materials.
We had pizza for dinner (a Sunday night favorite) and had baths before bed....it was a wonderfully lazy, stay-at-home kind of day. I thought the kids would get a little stir crazy, but they seemed pretty happy and content to just hang out.
I think a lazy weekend was just what we all needed :)
