Not to be outdone by her brother and all of his school news, Ellie has reached a milestone of her own. As I mentioned in a previous post, my little monkey Ellie let herself out of her crib - eeek! Over the weekend she did it again and when I heard her hit the ground, I knew it was time to make some changes with the crib so she wouldn't hurt herself.
So I'm pretty proud of myself....first of all for finding the parts and directions for the crib conversion, and then for actually using the parts and directions to make the crib into a little daybed! Of course the kids were very anxious to "help" and had a hand in this too :)
To celebrate, and in an attempt to make her new bed more exciting (so that she'll want to stay there all on her own!) we went to the Home Goods store to get a couple things.
One SUPER fluffy blanket and pretty pillowcase later, this is what Ellie looks like in her bed. She gets a little upset when I leave her in there and sometimes cries and tells me she wants to go with me, but usually she calms down after 5-10 minutes. Luckily she still doesn't know how to open doors so I can keep her contained in the room if I need to grab a shower in the morning or to get her to sleep at night. I dread the day when she figures out the door handle thing.
My kids are getting big....I've been reminded of it a lot lately!
