Hunt Family Connection

Graham has some news he'd like to share....

Wil and I share Graham's enthusiasm and are excited to finally announce to everyone that we'll be adding to our family this fall :)

I am happy to report that all is going very well at week 12 (out of 40 for those that are keeping count) - I just had a dr. appointment last week that was filled with good news. All of the tests they ran at my first visit came back "normal", my blood pressure is well within the average range, and the dr. was able to find the baby's heartbeat and I was able to hear it too :)

The official due date is September 5th - just a few days after my birthday! We will most likely be finding out the gender of the baby, but not until mid-April.

Just as I did when I was pregnant with Graham, I have started a separate blog to share information about the pregnancy....a sort of "pre-baby book". It's been fun to look back at my last pregnancy and compare it to how I am feeling now. You can find out as much or as little as you'd like about my pregnancy and our preparations HERE - I'll also put a link on my "Websites I Visit" page.

Playdate

We had our friends Leila, Savannah, and Matthew over for a playdate last week - would you believe that the kids cooked dinner for us???

They didn't....but it was pretty darn cute to see them all playing together at Graham's kitchen.  In fact, none of them were really interested in food at all. I have to say they all got along quite well and everyone seemed to have a good time. I love getting to see and chat with Leila - she's such a great momma and has lots of wisdom to share :) 

We say it every time we get together, and I'll say it again....we really need to do this more often!

And it was Valentine's Day too!

Still catching up on happenings and pictures from the weekend. I wanted to share some of the Valentine's Day celebrating that we did :)

I got Graham a balloon to play with - he had a lot of fun running around in circles with it and one of his favorite games was to let it float to the ceiling and ask someone to help him get it....he could play that for quite some time!

Wil got me some goodies too - a balloon attached to a beautiful vase of roses and a box of chocolates - YUM!

 

 

 

We also had a visit from Mum-mum and Pop-pop this past weekend and they offered to watch Graham while Wil and I went out for a Valentine's Day dinner. We enjoyed a nice dinner together and brought home Dairy Queen treats for all. We also enjoyed a great visit with Mum-mum and Pop-pop and hope they are able to come back again soon.

Our Friend Sammy is ONE!

We were very excited to help our friend Sammy celebrate his first birthday this past weekend :)

He seemed to really enjoy his very first bites of cake :) Shortly after Sammy started getting into the cupcake, I got this picture of his parents.... tee hee!

Once the bib was in place he was all set to dig in. I'm pretty sure there will be video of this too, so keep and eye on Kara's blog for that. I have a few more pictures HERE if you're interested.  There were a handful of little ones there so I spent a lot of time making sure Graham didn't  knock any of the little ones over :)

GREAT party Sammy - you've come a long way this year and we can't wait to see what you're going to be doing next! 

P.S. - thanks for the "Shake It" party favor CD - we've listened to it a couple of times already and love it :)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY PA-PAW!

It's been a very nice and busy weekend, but I wanted to be sure I got this very important birthday wish up before the day is over....

Graham really LOVES his pa-paw and I have lots of great pictures of them together....this is one of my favs :)

We hope you had a wonderful birthday weekend Pa-Paw/Dad and will look forward to seeing you tomorrow!

Valentine's Day Presents!

We got a package in the mail today....

THANKS Nana and Papa for the Valentine's Day goodies :)  We enjoyed some of the rice krispie treats after dinner tonight and Graham immediately fell in love with his puppy!

He also spent a lot of time playing with the finger puppets that came with his new book. He's also into naming all of the characters - he recognized Elmo of course, thought Zoe was Bert, and identified Big Bird as "Daddy?" Not sure what that was all about?!

We're all a little under the weather here in the Hunt household - a cold here, a cough and sore throat there.... nothing major, just not 100 percent.

Hopefully we'll all be feeling better again by the weekend - we have Sammy's first birthday party coming up on Saturday, and Mum-Mum and Pop-Pop are coming for a visit.

A Sweet Little Thing....

Once in awhile I put things here so that I won't forget....this is one of those posts so feel free to skip over my mush if you'd like :)

Our bedtime routine has been going quite well and G did something that made me giggle tonight....I realized he does this every night and it's one of those little things that I want to remember.

So after we get pjs on, read stories and turn on the music, Graham gets a nice long hug as we dance to the first song on the CD, and then I get kisses before I put him down in his crib. He usually has two pacifiers in his crib and both are in hand when we do hugs and kisses. When I ask for my kisses he always tries to give them with the pacifier in his mouth, so I ask for one without the paci.... he takes one out of his mouth and quickly replaces it with the spare. Then he smiles and laughs like he's done the funniest thing ever....every night :)  Never gets old for him and tonight he just had the goofiest grin on his face that I couldn't help but laugh right along with him. I really love bedtime....it's the one time of day when G is still my little baby boy.

Tubby Time!

This is the look of a boy that was VERY happy to have tubby time for the first time in three weeks....

The boy's mama was pretty happy too - he looks and smells sooo nice and clean tonight :)

So obviously we were successful in having the cast removed - yay! The young man that was going to take the cast off took one look at Graham and told us it was going to be "a mess - he's going to cry and scream because this is so loud - and I'm going to need you guys to hold his arms and legs." (methinks this is a glass-half-empty kind of guy!)

Graham proved him wrong and only cried a little bit when he hit the "ticklish" part of the foot. The cast-removal-dude was quite amazed and impressed by G's behavior and said he had never seen a baby take this so well :)

After the cast came off we went to the x-ray room and had a couple pictures taken, then visited with the doctor. Everything looks great - I was so relieved! Graham wanted to walk right away and walked halfway into daycare when we arrived. He is a little bit hesitant with the leg, but that's to be expected....I'm sure he'll be back to normal in no time.

It's exhausting work!

This was the scene in our living room tonight...

....crashed out on the floor, surrounded by his puppies and a million other toys he dragged out during the course of the evening. G's been getting outside a lot these past couple of days with the daycare and the fresh air definitely wears him out.

I wanted to be sure to get a few more pictures of those little toes peeking out of the cast before it gets removed.

Just one more day....

....and then the cast comes off. Friday morning we get Graham's leg looked at and hopefully we'll be done with this whole cast thing.  Graham is finally starting to be a bit bothered by the cast and for the last couple of days has been rather upset that he can't walk and play as much outside. We are really missing tub-time too - can't wait to get him cleaned up really good in a bath Friday night :)

I've had a couple of nights of less than impressive sleep, and last night Graham was up a couple of times (I have NO idea why?!)

On the bright side, I've been getting things checked off my to-do list at work - the list has been long these past few weeks, but things are starting to clear up a little bit. Of course more will come up again soon, but today I felt like things were under control.
